WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Marguerite Byers, 65, of Wingate, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday (April 16, 1973) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient a week. Born July 16, 1907, near Alamo, she was the daughter of William Newton and Clara Burk Kelsey. She was married to Roy Hunter, who died in 1961. She then was married on Jan. 2, 1963, to Emmett Byers, who survives. She had resided in Wingate for 30 years, moving from the Centennial community north of Kingman. She was a member of the Wingate United Church of Christ and the Ladies Guild. Other survivors include a son, James Hunter of Crawfordsville; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Thursday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with the Rev. Homer Hunsinger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
