DARLINGTON -- Mrs. Mary Frances Butler of Darlington died suddenly Wednesday morning just a half hour after admission to Culver Hospital. Mrs. Butler, 62, is survived by her husband, Frederick R. Butler. The deceased, a native of the Darlington community, graduated from high school here in 1925. A member of the Darlington United Methodist Church, she was serving her second term as president of Circle 3 of the affiliated Women's Society. She was a past worthy matron of Darlington Chapter 297, Order of Eastern Star, and had held many other offices in the organization. Born on July 31, 1907, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Sophia Cook. Her marriage was solemnized on Oct. 27, 1928, in Bloomington, Ind. Surviving in addition to the husband are two sons, Edmund of Crawfordsville and Kent, a sophomore at Purdue University; a grandson, Frederick, also of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Warren and Mrs. Blanche Baker, both of Darlington. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude in infancy and Mrs. Jesse Foster, and a brother, Chester. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. R. Dale Waltz in charge. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.--waw
