LADOGA — Lloyd A. "Coach" Butler, 62, a farmer in the Ladoga area for the past eight years, died at 6 a.m. Monday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle where he had been a patient since last Wednesday. Prior to moving to the Ladoga area, he had resided in the Fillmore community. Born Feb. 1, 1909, in Putnam County, he was a son of John and Octavia Buis Butler. He is survived by his wife, Merle; a son, John Allen, at home; a step-son, Donald Bassett of Belle Union; a step-daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bright of Jackson, N.J.; a step-grandson; two brothers, Dallas and Gale of Indianapolis and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Wheeler of Cloverdale, Mrs. Malissia Steirwalt of Stilesville and Mrs. Emma Weddell of Greencastle. He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.--waw
