New Market, July 22 – R.C. Busenbark, 78, prominent farmer and former member of the county council, died suddenly at his home here Thursday night at 7:45 o'clock. Death was due to heart trouble, from which he had been suffering for the past four years.
Born April 25, 1865 near New Market; he was the son of Emmons and Anna Gilliland Busenbark. He was first married to Emma Caroline Graham, whose death occurred in 1895. He later was married to Lillie Graham.
Mr. Busenbark was a member of the New Market Baptist church for 50 years but recently had been a member of the Followers of Christ church.
For many years Mr. Busenbark had been one of the best known farmers in this community. He was a director of the New Market Farmers State bank and also at one time served as township assessor. He was active in the affair of the Democratic party.
The survivors include the wife; a son; Byron, of New Market; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Rush, of near New Market, and Mrs. Lavina Peffley, of Lafayette; a step-daughter, Mrs. Shirley Jones, of Logansport; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
