LINDEN — Oscar Burton, retired farmer, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital. Mr. Burton, 73, was admitted to the hospital five weeks ago. His wife of over 50 years preceded in death on June 24 of this year. The deceased had lived in the Linden community for 26 years, and attended the Linden United Methodist Church. Born on May 6, 1895, in Nancy, Ky., he was the son of William and Gertrude Britt Burton. He was married to Lucy J. Wilson on Dec. 30, 1914, in Nancy. Surviving are four sons, Herschel of Fowler, Herbert of Montgomery, Ala., Omer of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville and Oscar Jr. of Linden; a brother, Teddy of Nancy; a sister, Eva Whittle of Fort Worth, Tex.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 pm. Wednesday in the Helms Funeral Home at Linden with Rev. Dale M. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday.--waw
