New Richmond— Mrs. Ruth A. Burnett, 79, a lifelong resident of the New Richmond area, died Thursday just a few hours after being admitted to Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She had been a patient at Houland House in Crawfordsville for the past six weeks. She was born Sept. 13, 1899, near Elmdale, a daughter of Robert L. and Ida M. (Miller) Armfield. She was married to Carl M. Burnett, who preceded her in death. She and her husband owned and operated a farm near New Richmond. She attended Elmdale community schools. She was a member of the Center Christian Church and the Center Help Society. She is survived by a nephew, Robert Murphy, and a niece, Mrs. Francis (Ellen) Pittman, both of Crawfordsville. Services are at 2 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
