Mrs. Sarah BURK, 78, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ora Paxton in the Young's Chapel neighborhood after an illness of several weeks of a complication of diseases incident to her advanced age. Mrs. Burk was born on April 8, 1844 at Round Hill, the daughter of John and Jane Weliver. Surviving her are 3 daughters; Mrs. Ora Paxton of Young's Chapel; Mrs. Dora Parker of Linden and Mrs. Lizzie Ward of Lafayette and one son, William Wilkie of Crawfordsville. Her husband by her second marriage died 18 years ago. On account of diphtheria in the family there will be no funeral services at the home but a short service at the grave. Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery north of the city. - transcribed by kbz
