Mrs. Elizabeth Burford, whose funeral occurred at the Marshall Baptist Church on Thursday of last week was b. in Pa. in 1833. She was the widow of Henry Burford who was killed about 25 years ago by the explosion of a threshing engine. She leaves four sons and one daughter, Mrs. William J. Miles of New Market. - kbz

Elizabeth A. Burford was born in Pennsylvania Dec 19, 1832; died January 15, 1918 age 85 years and 26 days. When a small child, she with her parents moved to Ohio and at the age of 8 came with her parents to Indiana and settled in Parke County near Rockville where she spent her pioneer girlhood days. She was married to Henry Burford Janaury 20, 1853 and to this union were born six children: Samuel of Indianapolis, John of Ponco City, Oklahoma; Charles who preceded his mother in death Sept 1, 1911, Mary Miles of New Market, William of Spokane Wash and Albert of Rockville. She united with the Pleasant Grove Predestinarian Bpatist Church wehre she and her husband were faithful members seldom being absent from the services of the church for many years. She was an industrious hard working woman and a true mother, no sacrifice was too great for her children and loved ones and during her last years she went beyond her strength to do for them. She was seriously ill for four months, having suffered a stroke of paralysis when she was rendered entirely helpless but she bore all her affliction with much patience and christian fortitutde. She leaves to mourn their loss 5 children; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two brothers, David Mull of Oklahoma and Henry Mull of Rockville and two sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Clark and Mrs. Martha Elliott both of Rockville and a host of relatives and friends. - kbz
