Waynetown, March 28 -- William A. Bunnell, 87, prominent resident of Waynetown for many years, died at the homeo f his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Snyder, at 4:30 o'clock Friday morning. Mr. Bunnell suffered a slight stroke Monday morning while at his desk in his office here and later in the evening he had a second stroke. He had been seriously ill since the second stroke. Always enjoying rugged health, Mr. Bunnell had never had a doctor call at his home to see him on account of illness until Monday morning. Born on a farm immediately north of Waynetown, April 7, 1859, Mr. Bunnell was the son of Vezy and Mary Ann Hayes Bunnell. Mr. Bunnell was marrried 63 years ago to Iriminta Haas of this community. Mrs. Bunnel died Feb 5, 1927. Since the death of his wife, Mrs. Bunnell had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Snyder. For years, Mr. Bunnell had been a contractor and coal dealer. He also served as choir leader and Mrs. Bunnell as organist at the Baptist church over a long period of years. He continued to be choir leader at the church after Mrs. Bunnnell's death. Mr. Bunnell had also served as trustee of the church many years. He held membership in the Red Men's lodge during the time there was a lodge in Waynetown. The daughter, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive. Also surviving are 4 nephews and one niece, Mrs. George Gravett and one nephew, Clifford A. Bunnell, residing in Waynetown.
