Wingate - Stella Bunnell, 86, who was a telephone operator for the New Richmond and Elmdale exchanges for a number of years, died at 7 a.m. Sunday in the Ben Hur Home at Crawfordsville. she had lived there 2 1/2 years and with her daughter at Indianapolis for 20 years after moving from the New Richmond area. Mrs. Bunnell was a member of the World Wide Church of God in Indianapolis. Shew as born August 22, 1888, in Boone County, a daughter of Elisha and Sarah Cathernie Swank Layne. She married Orie Bunnell in April of 1910. He died in January 1925. Surviving are a son, Roy of Wingate; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Jewel) Dazey of Indianapolis and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Tefft of Downers Grove, Ill; 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. An infant son and two sistesr are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Robert Persky officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home.
