Waynetown - Mercedes Brown, 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio died Monday evening in St. George Hospital at Cincinnati.
Mrs. Brown lived many years in the Wallace and Kingman communities. During the 1940s she lived in Indianapolis later moving to Cincinnati. She and her husband maintained a summer home east of Kingman until 1962. She attended Fountain County schools.
Born March 2, 1903, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Furr. She married Sheldon Brown in 1920. He died in 1962 ? (smudged)
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Kunkel of Williamsport; two great nieces and a great nephew. Two sisters are deceased. Services are scheduled at 3 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Gilbert Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Mercedes Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio, age 79, died Monday evening, April 19, in St. George Hospital at Cincinnati. She was born March 2, 1903, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Furr. In 1920, she married Sheldon Brown, who died in 1962. Mrs. Brown lived many years in the Wallace and Kingman communities and maintained a summer home east of Kingman until 1962.
Surviving are a niece, Lillian Kunkel of Williamsport; two great nieces and a great nephew.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Gilbert Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kz
