Darlington – May 15 – John L. Brown, age 71, corporal of Co G, 154th Indiana Infantry died here yesterday evening when riding in an auto with Dr. MH Lidikay one mile below town. He was born near Dublin, Wayne County, May 17, 1846 and was the oldest of 7 brothers: Charles of Jamestown; Allison of Indianapolis; Elmer of Brownsburg and Harry of Chicago survive; also two daughters, Mrs. Isaac Larrick with whom he lived here and Mrs. Kim Edwards of Linden.
