Brown - Imogene

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 2 May 1902

Miss Imogene Brown died Monday morning at six o’clock at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where she had been taking treatment for meningitis. The body was brought to this city that evening and taken to the home of Mrs. L. A. Miller, on South Green Street, from where the funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock. The interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery and Rev. S. W. Goss conducted short services at the grave.

Miss Brown had lived nearly all her life in this city, having taught for a number of years in both city and county schools. She had been in failing health for three years. She had much artistic talent and the work that she sent to the Propylene exhibits at Indianapolis was always accepted. Miss Brown was the head of the humane society in this city and took a great interest and pride in its work. She made many friends and held them, and the news of her death, while not unexpected, was received with much regret. - thanks so much to "S"
