Britton - Nancy Patterson

Nancy Ann Patterson Britton was born in Adams, (sic Alamo) Ind July 29, 1840 on a farm in the big timber and lived there until her marriage to Abraham Britton Dec 10, 1862. Then the family lived near Crawfordsville, until they moved from there to Illinois and from that state they came to Kansas, settling in Cloud County in 1875. In March 1883, the family moved to Geary County, Kansas and for the past 30 years have lived in Junction City. Five children were born to them, three of whom survive their mother, Albert Britton, Mrs. John Jarrard and Mrs. Archie Pelin. Mrs. Britton was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and has belonged to this society for many years. She was a charter member of the Social Union. She especially delighted in Sunday School and was as regular in attendance as her age permitted. In her last sickness she was supported by her Christian faith, showing great patience and resignation and was fully prepared for the better land. She died Feb 2, 1916, aged 75 years 6 months and 4 days.
