Sarah Belle PINKLEY was born in Clay County, Indiana March 29, 1849. She was married to James R. BRUSH in 1860. Ten children were born to this union: Will Brush, of this city; John B. of Montana; George and Thomas, Oklahoma; Luther, Mrs. Letha NEWMAN; Mrs Eva Scott, Amanda and Kate of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ella SAYLER of New Market. Mrs. Brush united with the Christian Church at the Old Indian Creek Church in early womanhood and ever after lived a consistent christian life. Mr. and Mrs. Brush lived in the vicinity of New Market until the death of her husband and then Mrs. Brush removed to Indianapolis with her children. About a month ago she came to New Market to visit her daughter, Mrs. Sayler, where she died on Sept 30 of a tubercular trouble with which she had been ailing for many months. She was in the hospital for weeks. Skilled physicians treated her, trained nurses cared for her, but to no avail. Death claimed her as his own. Not often out of that large a family is the father and mother taken first but it is so in this case, as all of them are living. Mrs. Brush was a most excellent woman. She was one of those good kind mothers whose memory will live like the fragrance of a beautiful rose, the world having been made better by her having lived in it. The funeral was conducted at the Christian Church at 2 p.m Sunday conducted by Rev. Plunkett. Interment at the Masonic Cemetery near this city.-- typed by kbz
