Theada Mae Brown, 57, Thorntown, died Friday afternoon in a house she was cleaning, located west of Thorntown. Ms. Brown had worked as a waitress for Homestead Inn, Dover, the New Ross Steak House, and Batts Inc., Advance. A clerk until 1990 for Boone County Livestock Center, Lebanon, she had been self-employed in her own cleaning service. Memberships included National Harley Owners Group, Lafayette Chapter. A Darlington High School graduate, she had resided in Shannondale and Darlington. She was born Dec. 5, 1946, at Lebanon, to Norman Stewart and Martha Virginia Abbott Stewart Kuhlman. She married Wendell L. Brown, and lived in the Dover-Advance area. She divorced him in 1985. Carl E. Schenck, Thorntown, was her companion for the past 18 years. Survivors include her mother, Sheridan, Ind.; a son, Jason E. (Sarah) Brown, Lebanon; five halfbrothers, Harry Kuhlman, Edgewater, Fla., Garry Kuhlman, Simpsonville, Ky., Tom and Jerry Stewart, both of Shannondale, and Butch Palmer, Darlington; three halfsisters, Sharon (Rick) Greathouse, Sheridan, Simone Newton, Noblesville, and Patty (Bill) Long, Fincastle; and two grandsons. A halfbrother, Larry Kuhlman, died in 1989. Funeral services are scheduled 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the Revs. Marvin Van and Richard Burdette officiating. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
