Waynetown -- Joseph Eugene Brown, 46, died at 7:15 a.m. Monday at the home of his parents, James and Bessie Woods Brown on Rt 3, Crawfordsville, 3 miles south of Alamo. He had made his home with them for the past two years. He had been in failing health 3 years and seriously ill about 4 months prior to his death. Born April 23, 1919 in Wayne Township he attended school in Waynetown. He never married. Mr. Brown attended the Freedom Baptist Church near Alamo. He was a laborer during his adult life. Survivors include the parents, 3 brothers, Raymond Brown of Ft. Wayne; Russell Brown of Cherry Grove and Ralph Brown of the James Connelley Air Force Base in Waco, Tx and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Irene Brown. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, Rev. Lowell Mitchell, pastor of the Freedom Church will officiate. Burial in Sand Creek Cemetery near Rockville.
