Clifton Brown, age 75, formerly of the Darlington community, died Sunday morning (March 13, 1966) in the Veterans Hospital at Marion where he had been for 22 years. Born in Montgomery County, June 4, 1890, he was the son of Manoah and Sallie Ann Wilson Brown. Mr. Brown was raised on a farm near Darlington before entering World War I. He made his home with two sisters for several years. He went to the Soldiers Home in Lafayette 32 years ago prior to entering the hospital in Marion. He had been in poor health for 35 years. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Harold Cox of Thorntown and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a half-sister. Graveside rites were held Wednesday afternoon at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Darlington with the Rev. A. L. Vermillion officiating. The Russell & Hitch funeral Home was in charge.
