DARLINGTON - Clara Mae Brown, 90, a resident of Darlington, died Thursday in Bowles Nursing Home at Clarks Hill after a long illness. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Centerville, Ill. She was born Sept. 30, 1886, at Seymour, Ill., a daughter of Fremont and Mary Benson Winters. She married Charles Brown at Urbana, Ill., on Oct. 23, 1907. He preceded her in death in June, 1944. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gentry of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Helen Adams of Clarks Hill; a son, Roy R. Brown of Green Bay, Wis.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles, and three brothers. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. - jlr
