Mrs. Theodore D. BROWN died last Monday at 7:20 o’clock at her home on W. Main Street after a protracted illness. The funeral took place at the residence on Wed afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. AJ Alexander. The interment was at Oak Hill and was private. Mrs. Brown’s maiden name was Caroline Switzer and she was born in Lowell, Mass. June 15, 1834. She was married to T.D. Brown at Crawfordsville Oct 24, 1854. Her husband and three children, William S, Mary Eden and Frederick Thomas survive her. She was one of a family of 7 children, but only one survives her, a brother, William U Switzer of Illinois. Mrs. Brown was a consistent and faithful member for many years of the Center Presbyterian church and her death removes, in point of membership one of the oldest communicants of the church. Her character in the home and society was a most attractive and beautiful one and her life commends itself to memory by its many acts of usefulness. - typed by kbz

Mrs. Caroline Brown, the wife of Theodore D. Brown died this morning at 7 o'clock at the family residence on west Main Street. Her health began failing some months ago and for several weeks past her condition had been quite critical. Mrs. Brown's maiden name was Caroline Switzer and she was born at Lowell, Mass, June 15, 1834. Of a family of 7 brothers and sisters, but one survives her, William Switzer, living in Illinois. The deceased was united in marriage to Theodore D. Brown in this city October 24, 1854. Three children, William S; Mary Ellen and Frederick T. survive her. Mrs. Brown was a faithful and loving wife and mother and an active member of the Center Presbyterian Church. Her kindly and charitable disposition and many noble traits of character endeared her to a host of friends and her presence will be sadly missed in many circles. The funeral service will be conducted at the family residence at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. A.J. Alexander and will be private. The remains will be placed at rest at Oak Hill - Daily, Dec 4. - kbz
