Alexander Brookshire, aged 76 years, a resident of this county all his life, died at his home, east Franklin street Thursday after an extended illness with a complication of diseases. The deceased was a son of Drake and Sarah Brookshire and was born near Ladoga May 12, 1848. His father lived to be one of the oldest men in Montgomery County, dying not long ago. Five brothers, Elijah of Washington, DC, a former congressman of the 8th district; Al, of Lebanon; Joel of Greencastle; Drake of Roachdale and Lee who lives on the old farm near Ladoga. The deceased had been living with his son, Ishmael, in this city since the death of his wife several hears ago. The body will be taken to Ladoga where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Crawfordsville Journal - kbz
