Rev. Robert M. Brooks, who came to us during the war as a refugee from Alabama, and who lived, loved and labored here for several years, but lately preached and resided on Rensselaer circuit, died happy at that place last Monday. He had an army of friends who loved him for his many good traits of head and heart. He leaves a bereaved wife and several children behind, but they mourn not without bright hope of future bliss. - transcribed by kbz
