They went to Pleasant HIll to live, but since 1858 they have resided in Crawfordsville except a short time when he farmed in Fountain County in later years. Mr. Bromley was postmaster for two terms in this city in the 60s and for two terms filled the office of Union Township Trustee. At other times he was engaged in business until old age came upon him. He was a man of great personal popularity and everyone who knew him was his friend. He had a ready flow of native and clean writ that made him a favorite in every circle in which he mingled. For 50 years, he was a member of the ME Church and he lived the proper life thus laid out before him. In all respects he was an excellent citizen, a noble father, a good man.
