Mrs. Emily Church Brock, 88, of northeast of Darlington, died at 11:15 o'clock Saturday night at Culver hospital here following a short illness with a complication of diseases. She had been a patient at the hospital for one day. Mrs. Brock, resident of the Darlington neighborhood for approximately forty years, was born in North Carolina, December 31, 1847, the daughter of Richard and Salena Church. She was married to Noah M. Brock, who will be 100 years old next August, on April 10, 1866. The deceased was a member of the Potato Creek Methodist church. Mrs. Brock fell last spring and suffered a broken hip, but following the accident recovered sufficiently to be able to walk around again. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are three grandchildren, Mrs. Belle Dow and Mrs. Florence Parker, both of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Lee Painter, of Darlington; two brothers, Rev. George Church, of Indianapolis, and Clint Church, who resides with Mr. and Mrs. Brock; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edith Brock who had made her home with her husband's parents since 1908, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Brock home, two and a half miles northeast of Darlington, with the Rev. A.L. Miller, officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Darlington.

Darlington, Jan 26 – Mrs. Emily Church Brock, living two miles east of here, died last night at 11 o’clock at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since Friday, suffering from stomach trouble. Born Dec 31, 1847 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of Richard andSalina Church and was married to Noah Brock, April 1886 and has lived in this vicinity for 40 years. She was a member of the Potato Creek ME Church. Should her husband live until next August, he will be 100 years old. Surviving, besides Mr. Church are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edith Brock who has made her home with the aged couple since 1908; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and two brothers, George Church of Indianapolis and Clifford Church who also lived at the Brock home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o’clock from the family home, with the Rev. AL Miller officiating. Burial will b ein the IOOF cemetery.

Darlington Jan 29 – Mrs. Noah Brock of Darlington, former Johnson County woman died Saturday in Crawfordsville of an illness cause when she fell and injured her hip several months ago. Among the survivors are the husband, Noah Brock, who will observe his 100th birthday in August.  Other survivors are: Mrs. Edith Gregg Brock, formerly of Johnson County; a grandson, Lee Painter of Darlington; two granddaughters, Mrs. William Dow and Mrs. Florence Rogers, both of Michigan. Two sons and two daughters preceded Mrs. Brock in death. Mr. and Mrs. Brock settled near Bluff Creek many years ago coming to Johnson County from NC.  They later moved to Darlington.
