THOMAS BROADLICK

Thomas W. Broadlick, a former resident of Darlington and father of Mrs. Aniel Booher of this place died at his home in Kokomo, Saturday December 14. Altho failing in health for a number of years, an illness of about six weeks of heart trouble was the direct cause of his death. Mr. Broadlick was widely known among the older citizens of this community as for 8 years he conducted a bakery here, leaving in 1887 for Kokomo where he made his home until his death. He was a native Englishman, having been born in Davenport, England Sept 29, 1839. He came to the US at an early age and was married July 8, 1863. He was the father of 12 children, 7 of whom, 5 sons and two daughters survive, together with his widow, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was 79 years of age. The funeral services were held at the home in Kokomo, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was made in Crown Point Cemetery at Kokomo. -kbz
