William J. Broach, 47, a Lewis Shepard Co. employee for 23 years and for the past year night clerk at the Monon Hotel, died at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis after an illness of 10 days. Mr. Broach served with the United States Army in World War II and was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge here. He was born in Crawfordsville February 21, 1920, a son of William C. and Olive Campbell Broach. He was never married. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Opal Barnhart of North Salem and Mrs. Hazel Bales of Cloverdale and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home here with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Eagles Lodge services will be conducted at 8 o'clock this evening.
