Mary C. Brennan, 70, of 906 W. Pike St., died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Carmen Nursing Home after an illness of five months. She was born in Crawfordsville, the daughter of James A. and Nora Kelly Brennan, on Feb. 21, 1899. She was graduated from Crawfordsville High School with the class of 1918. After graduation she worked in the law offices of Ristine & Ristine, Crane & McCabe, and then for Franklin Davidson. In 1933 she accepted employment at the Elston Bank & Trust Co., where she worked in the trust department until her retirement five years ago. For several years prior to and since retirement she served on the Montgomery County Welfare Board. She was a past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Miss Brennan is survived by three brothers, James of Portsmouth, Va., and William and Hugh of Crawfordsville; two nephews, Dr. James Brennan of Bridgewater, Mass., and John William Brennan of Savannah, Ga. An aunt, Miss Winifred Kelly of Crawfordsville, also survives. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard’s Church, where mass will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Hunt and Son funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. Rosary services will be conducted there on Tuesday at 8 p.m. – jlr
