WAYNETOWN -- Robert E. Branson, 65, of Oak Park, Ill., husband of the former Lucy Gooding of Waynetown, died at 9 a.m. Friday at his home. He had been in failing health for several months. A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he was employed for 30 years in the Chicago area as an electrical designer and engineer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Chicago. Born March 7, 1906 at St. Louis, he was a son of Charles W. and Margaret Meegan Branson. He was married June 23, 1937 at Crawfordsville. His wife survives. Other survivors include: his step-mother, Mrs. Josephine Branson of St. Louis; a son, Robert of Rockford, Ill.; two grandchildren, and four brothers and three sisters all residing in the St. Louis area. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Kenneth Brock officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.- waw
