Bramblett - George
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Jounal 11 Aug 1899 p 1 c5
A fatal and peculiar accident occurred Wednesday at Ladoga in which George Bramblett lost his life and two or three other men of the Monon section gang narrowly escaped. The gang was working near the Midland crossing and when the heavy rain came up they took refuge under some Midland box cars which stood on a siding. While they were under the cars a freight train backed onto the siding to take off the cars. The rainfall deadened the sound of the approach of the train and the first intimation the men had of it was the jar when the coupling was made. All were able to scramble out except Bramblett and he was caught under the wheels and crused to death. He was formerly a foreman of a section on the Big Four and resided at New Ross. - kbz
