Bowman - Malinda
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 16 March 1900
At the age of 67 years and a few months and after six days’ sickness, Mrs. Malinda Bowman died on Wednesday morning. John H. Bowman, well known at the depot at Crawfordsville, was by her bedside when her spirit took its flight to God who gave it. Her suffering must have been intense, though she died without a struggle. She was a member of the Christian Church at this place; was a zealous member, always ready to help any benevolent cause when her means would let her. She did not believe in funerals, but thought a song or two and a prayer at the house was all that was necessary, which was done as she wished at the house on Friday. Interment was at Linden Cemetery. A. O. Jones was undertaker. – S
