Bowles - Merton

Thomas E. Bowles’ second son, Merton E., was kicked Saturday about 6 p.m. by his driving mare while in his buggy, and died Monday evening at 4 o’clock, with internal hemorrhages. Funeral at Gray, June 21, at 4 p.m. He was 21 years old January 19.
Mr. Bowles was an excellent young man and was known by hundreds in this county, having lived with his father near Elmdale until the removal of the family to Hamilton County. Clarence Widener, Mike Foley, Wm Rankin and G. W. Fuller went from here to attend the funeral. - thanks to "S" for typing this one
