Clarks Hill – Robert M. Bowers, 87, a retired farmer who lived here died at 6:50 a.m. Monday in Home Hospital, Lafayette where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been ill a month. Born in Montgomery County, he lived there and in Tippecanoe County most of his life. In 1888 he married Sarah Rice, who died in 1890 and in 1891 he married Ella Conrad. She died in 1946. He was a member of Church of the Brethren, west of Colfax. There are no immediate survivors.
