Ralph E. Bowers, 75 of 1804 Thompson St, a prominent Lafayette businessman died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at his home.  He had been in ill health only one day.  Born in Montgomery County he came to Lafayette at the age of six.  He attended school in Lafayette.  In 1915 he was married to Violet M. Kersey in Lafayette and she survives.  Mr. Bowers had been in the electrical business in Lafayette for over 50 years.  He and the late Ralph Brassie formed the Bowers & Brassie Electrical Company which was later known as the Bowers Brothers Co. In 1950 he formed the Ralph Bowers Electrical Company of which he was president and general manager.  The firm has been located at its present site since 1946.  Mr. Bowers was forced to retire from active participation in the business in 1967 because of loss of sight.  He was a member of the Congress Street United Methodist Church.  Surviving with his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Helen M. Keegan and Mrs. Wilson Brand, Jr both of Lafayette; a sister Mrs. Edythe B. Elliott, Chicago and two brothers, Earl P, Mulberry and Lawrence M, West Lafayette.   ---transcribed by kbz
