Services were held at the First Christian Church in Veedersburg for Miss Rose Elizabeth Boggs, 83, of 510 N. Main, found dead at home Saturday (August 17, 1968). Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg with the Rev. Fred Erickson officiating. Born in Veedersburg Dec. 3, 1885, she was the daughter of Ira and Susanna Fine Boggs. She attended the Veedersburg schools and was graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor and masters' degree. She had taught 25 years both in the Veedersburg community and in Richmond. She was past president of Indiana Teachers Association and past president of the Veedersburg School Board. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Veedersburg since early childhood, the Veedersburg Chamber of Commerce, Valetta Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of the Veedersburg Business & Professional Women's Club, a member of the Veedersburg DAR chapter and Theta Nu Chi chapter. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Maude Burgner of Veedersburg, Mrs. Gladys Furr of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Kathryn Panksley of Culver, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
