Arthur Boggs of Veedersburg, age 79, died Wednesday evening, September 26, at the Danville, Illinois, Veterans Administration Medical Center. A life resident of Veedersburg, he was born there October 16, 1899, the son of Ira and Susanna Fine Boggs. October 25, 1924, he was married to Mary Holycross, who survives. Mr. Boggs retired in 1969 after 30 years as postmaster in Veedersburg. He was a member of the Veedersburg First Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion and a charter member of Veedersburg Lions Club. An Army veteran of World War I, he graduated from Veedersburg High School and attended Purdue University. Also surviving are a son, Charles of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Furr of South Bend; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. William Ringgold officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery.
