Miss Dora BOYLAND of Browns Valley was fatally injured just before 4 on Monday afternoon when her car collided with a truck driven by John Hill of Mecca just north of the crossing of No. 47 and 234, the Bruce Pope corner. Miss Boyland came over the little hill just as the truck came through the bridge. She was driving very fast and lost control of her car when she saw the truck, The car skidded into the truck radiator with such force as to move it sidewise two feet. Miss Boyland was cut about the forehead and suffered fracture of the skull. The Machledt ambulance was called to take her to Culver Hospital. She died on Tuesday evening about 9 o'clock. Mrs. Garrie Dillman on her way to Crawfordsville arrived just after the accident. She gave what assistance she could and called the ambulance. The sheriff was called and absolved Hill from any blame. The accident occurred near the bridge where the Frisz-Reddish accident occurred a few weeks ago and where the Crawfordsville bus had a collision. The car was a complete wreck. Miss Boyland was the daughter of the late Samuel Boyland and is well known here. She was a nurse and until the first of the month had been employed in Culver Hospital. Mrs. Beatrice Rohm was returning from taking her to her work when she met with a serious accident south of the crossing. - kbz
