THORNTOWN — Mrs. Lois B. Bowen, 59, who owned and operated the Thorntown Thrift Shop since 1959, died Wednesday in Witham Hospital at Lebanon where she had been a patient since Monday. She was a member of Thorntown United Methodist Church. Born April 25, 1918, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of Clark and Maude Reagan Pauley. Her first marriage was to Lynn Pefley of California. She was next married July 15, 1952, to Fred B. Bowen. He survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. James (Barb) Quellhorst of Lebanon; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard L. (Waneta) Fall of Thorntown; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home here with the Rev. Vernon Brothers officiating. Burial will be in Palinview Cemetery at Colfax.
