J.(John) W. Bott died at his home south of town on Wednesday afternoon (11 Sept). He has been suffering with heart trouble. He was at Milligan in the morning and on coming home had a chill. After he recovered from this, he went out in the yard and was lying in a hammock when he died.

A short funeral service will be held at the home this morning after which the body will be taken to the former home at Hume, Ill. After a service at the ME Church, the body will be interred in Young America Cemetery.

Mr. Bott was born in Hamburg, Germany July 29, 1852 and was brought here when two years old. He married Mary A. Randall Oct 24, 1874. To them were born six children, four of whom survive. Mrs. Bert Hartley of Hollywood, California; Mrs. Ernest Kile of Hume, Illinois; Miss Margaret Bott of Waveland. Mr. Bott again married Sept 4, 1902 to Mrs. Mollie E. Bowers who survives him. Mr. Bott moved here about two years ago from Hume. kbz

 Waveland, Ind Sept 12 – JW Bott, a retired farmer living south of here, died while taking a seat in a hammock yesterday afternoon. He had just returned from a trip to town. He leaves a widow and two children.  He moved here from Hume, Ill two years ago

Waveland, Ind Sept 13 – John W. Bott, a well known citizen living near here died suddenly yesterday afternoon.  Death was caused by heart trouble with which Mr. Bott was chronically afflicted. Besides his widow, Mollie Bowers Bott, the decedent is survived by four children by his first wife. They are: Mrs. Ernest Kyle and Fred Bott of Hume, Ill; Miss Margaret Bott and another daughter who lives in California.
