Mrs. Lucy Booker, 87, of 308 S. Grace Ave., retired housemother at Butler University and former cook at Jamestown High School, died Sunday in Culver Hospital. She was a member of Jamestown Christian Church and several church organizations. Born Sept. 4, 1886, at Linden, she was a daughter of John and Jane McCoy Garvey. She was married in 1907 to Walter Booker. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Donald of Crawfordsville, John of Indianapolis and Lawrence of Speedway; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Gephart of San Clemente, Calif.; a brother, Homer of Hammond; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Johnson of New Ross, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Powers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery near Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
