In Memory of Phoebe Booher

Phoebe Booher, born Dec. 27th, 1826, died May 4th, 1895, aged 69 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was the precious jewel of the home circle. Her presence and kindness brought sunshine and gladness to the home. Her life was a model of gentleness, kindness, and sympathy. No unkind word or act of hers ever offended even the most sensitive nature. She was free from ostentation. Modesty, kindness and gentleness of spirit characterized her life, and to pay the last tribute of respect to her precious memory one of the largest assemblages that ever congregated at the Lutheran Church was present at her funeral, and Rev. Wesner conducted an appropriate service. Phoebe was a member of the Lutheran Church. Her Christian life was worthy of emulation. Her gentle spirit has been transported to the realm of eternal day, but the example of her beautiful life still lives to bless her memory. She ran the race with patience until she fell asleep.
She leaves a husband and five children, one daughter and four sons and many friends to mourn her loss. -s
