Mrs. Margaret A. Booher, 69 years old died at her home east of this place at 1:35 o'clock Monday morning after an extended illness with goitre and heart trouble. Mrs. Booher had spent all her life in this locality. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hampton and was born near here Oct 31, 1847. On Dec 1, 1865, she was married to John C. Booher, whose death occured last January a few days after they had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Booher was the mother of 9 children 3 of whom survive: Mrs. Rosa Caldwell, Mrs. Flora Booher and Mrs. Ora Caldwell. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild are living and Mrs. Booher is survived by 5 brothers: William, Martin, Michael, John and Samuel Hampton, and 3 sisters: Mrs. Eliza Bush, Mrs. Orphie Slipher, and Mrs. Ellen Coltrain. The deceased had been a member of St. James Lutheran Church for many years and had lived within a stone's throw of the church building. Darlington, Nov 6 - Mrs. Margaret Booher of near this city, died early this morning of heart trouble. She was 69 years of age and had spent practically all of her life in this community. She has been ill almost a year. She had a parlytic stroke some time ago and much trouble with a goiter. The deceased woman is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hampton and was born near here in 1847. She was married to John C. Booher i 1865 (incorrect 5 Dec 1864 BK 6 p 275) and the two resided near here until Mr. Booher's death last January after the couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Three daughters, Mrs. Joe Caldwell, Mrs. Ted Caldwell and Mrs. Edward Booher survive together with several grandchildren. She also had five brothers, William; Martin; Michael; John and Samuel Hampton and three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Bush; Mrs. Orphie Slipher and Mrs. Ellen Coltrain. The funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon and will be in charge of Rev. B.L. Stroup.
