CHICAGO – Funeral services were held Thursday for Dorothy Susan Bollerud, 77, of 123 Henshaw, a 1914 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. Burial was in Glen Oaks Memorial Park. She died Tuesday in a local hospital. Mrs. Bollerud attended Teachers Training School for Deaf in Indianapolis for two years. She taught in state schools for deaf in Montana and Michigan for three years and attended DePauw University one year. Mrs. Bollerud moved to Chicago in 1974. She had resided in Durham since 1924. She was a social worker for the Butte County Department Social Welfare and retired in 1967. She was past president of VFW Auxiliary of Chicago, a member of Durham Women’s Club, Phi Beta Mu Sorority, Little Papoose Auxiliary to Children’s Home Society of Chicago and Mother Church, First Church of Christ Scientist, of Boston. She married William Bollerud at Crawfordsville Sept. 6, 1920. He was judge of Durham Justice Court until his death. Surviving are three sons, George of Agat, Guam; Halvdan of Durham; and Hendrik of El Paso, Tex., two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Di Perno of San Rosa and Mrs. Paulette Triay of Fullerton; a brother, Paul DeVerter of Baytown, Tex.; and 17 grandchildren. The family suggests that friends may make contributions to their favorite charity through the Hall-Van Hook Funeral Chapel at Chicago. – jlr
