Died of wounds received at the Battle of Gettysburg, Capt. John JP Blinn, AAG. The noblest epitaph the world can inscribe on his tombstone is he died a Christian Soldier. Whereas, We, the young ladies of Crawfordsville do feel that a deep obligation rests with us to those who are fight for our country and as God has removed from us one who has fought gallantly and died for Freedom, therefore: Resolved that in his death we feel deeply the loss of a friend, a brave soldier and a noble citizen of our honored state. Resolved, that we tender our heartfelt sympathies to his stricken mother and bereaved sisters, considering that we, as well as our country, are indebted to them for the sacrifice they have made.
