Darlington – Theodore “Jack” Blanton, 83, longtime Darlington resident died Saturday morning at the Bowles Nursing Home in Crawfordsville where he had been a patience since June. Born Jan 13, 1880 in Hamilton County he was the son of Hiram and Mary Ward Blanton. He married Ella Fordyce in this county Dec 23, 1909. She preceded him in death. Mr. Blanton had lived in the Darlington community for 60 years and had been a decorator and contractor. The survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter Leach of Frankfort and Mrs. Frank Poffenbarger of Champaign, Ill; a son, Leonard H. Blanton of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Bert Hampton of Darlington and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held at Bright Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. –-- kbz
