The remains of John M. Blackford were brought here Saturday evening and were taken to the residence of his brother Nathaniel Blackford until Sunday morning. The funeral was preached Sunday morning by Rev. CJ Bowels, the large crowd present being a testimonial of the appreciated by his friends after the service the remains were laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery. --- transcribed by kbz
