Cates, Ind -- Mrs. Lena E. Blacketer, 75 of Cates died Friday, Aug 27, 1971 at her residence. She had been in ill health about two years. Mrs. Blacketer was born at Cates on Sept 29, 1895 to Robert M. and Mary Jane Cates Campbell. On May 15, 1913 she was married to John Blacketer, who died Nov 26, 1969. She also was preceded in death by a son, a bother, two half sisters and two half brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Warrick of Covington and Mrs. Roy (Mary) Frazier of Bloomingdale Rt 1; a son, Ralph of Linden; a brother, David E. Campbell, of Kingman; four grandchildren and four greats. A life resident of Cates, except for four years at New Richmond, Mrs. Blacketer was a member of Cates United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
