Blacker - Clyde - WWII

Clyde N. Blacker, 74, 108 E. Chestnut St, died at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Union Hospital. Mr. Black retired in 1971 from R.R. Donnelley & Sons where he was a boiler room engineer. He had also formerly managed the Crane Cigar Store. He was graduated in 1927 from Crawfordsville HS and served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and had served as president of the Saddle Club. Born at New RIchmond Jan 30, 1908 he was a son of Hoyt and Dora Oppy Blacker. He was married Jan 30, 1936 to Evelyn Houseman who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Darlene Blacker of Crawfordsville and a brother, Harry Blacker of Crawfordsville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. - kbz
