Waynetown – Pvt. Lawrence Bishop, 19, who entered service about a year ago from Wayne Township was killed in action Jan 31, in Italy, according to a message received from the war department by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ova Bishop, who now reside north of Wingate. No details were given. The family moved from this vicinity a year ago, Lawrence was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Surviving are the parents: a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Carver, in California and a baby brother, Preston at home.
