Merrill Blanton, 89, of 1203 Lane Ave. died Monday morning in Ben Hur Nursing Home. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Modern Woodmen. He was born March 25, 1884 at Sheridan, a son of Samuel and Laura Harrison Blanton. He was married Jan. 20, 1904 to Bergia Cook, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Woodrow of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Kelso of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ernestine Mock of Indianapolis and Mrs. Pauline Toole of Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters, June Jaeger and Mrs. Fern Henderson, both of Mace; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today. – jlr
