Myrtle E. Black, 65, of 112 S. Oak St., a member of the First Baptist Church and Riley Guild, died Wednesday afternoon in the Ben Hur Home. She was a member also of the Montgomery County Choral Group. Born Jan. 5, 1909, at Crawfordsville, she was a daughter of Walter F. and Mary Edna Hampton Todd. She married Jewell W. Black on March 17, 1935, He survives. Also surviving are her stepmother, Mrs. Dola Todd of Crawfordsville; two sons, William F. and John Black of Crawfordsville; six daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Gatliff, Mrs. Marilyn Welsh, Mrs. Rosalie Mikesell, Mrs. Margaret Flick and Mrs. Mary Hedrick of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Marcia Marsh of Akron, Pa.; a brother, Otis Todd of Mace; three half-sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Servies and Mrs. Martha Ann Johnson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Katherine Bayless of Phoenix, Ariz., and 19 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Leland Brett will officiate. – jlr
